On Thursday the Dayton Flyers became the latest team to offer Centerville point guard Gabe Cupps.

A junior-to-be, Cupps has also received offers from Ohio State, Xavier, Miami University, the College of Charleston and Brown this month after he averaged 15.2 points and 4.9 assists for the state champion Elks last season.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder shot 48.9 percent from the floor and 35.2 percent from 3-point range.

With the NCAA-mandated recruiting dead period finally lifted at the end of May, he has had a busy month making unofficial visits.

His stops have included Xavier, Cincinnati and OSU with Clemson, Virginia and Michigan on tap before the end of the month according to his father, Centerville coach Brook Cupps.

Teammates Tom House and Rich Rolf, both seniors, have also been pulling in scholarship offers this month.

Cupps is the second local guard in the 2023 class to get a Dayton offer, joining 6-3 Lawrent Rice of Wayne.

Coach Anthony Grant and his staff also have offered 5-11 Jayden Reid of Long Island Lutheran.
