Dayton Flyers offer scholarship to 2021 forward from Finland

Amzil attends First Love Christian Academy in Washington, Pa. Maryland offer Amzil a scholarship on Thursday.

Amzil is from Helsinki, Finland, and arrived in the United States and enrolled at First Love Christian Academy in August.

“He has terrific energy, outstanding hands and is a jack of all trades scorer,” the program wrote on Twitter. “Excels at finishing in transition.”

Of Amzil, Jake Weingarten, of Stockrisers.com, wrote, “The 6-foot-10 big is set to blow up. I expect tons of schools to enter the mix.”

Dayton filled one scholarship in the 2021 class with the commitment of Malachi Smith in August. Assuming it doesn’t fill the one open scholarship in the 2020-21 season, it has four open for the 2021-22 season.
