The Dayton Flyers offered a scholarship to a 2021 recruit from DeSoto, Texas, on Monday.

Duncan Powell, a 6-foot-7 forward, announced the offer on Twitter. He originally committed to Arkansas in September 2019 but reopened his recruitment in April while saying he would still consider Arkansas.

Powell ranks 85th in the 2021 class, according to ESPN, and 139th, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He has received scholarship offers from New Mexico, Richmond and other schools this month.

Dayton has yet to receive a commitment from the 2021 class, which will be an important one for the program because it loses Jordy Tshimanga, Ibi Watson, Rodney Chatman and Jalen Crutcher, assuming he withdraws from the NBA Draft, after next season.

Dayton has filled 12 of 13 scholarships for the 2020-21 season.
