Dayton Flyers offer scholarship to top-30 2021 recruit

TyTy Washington, a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, announced Monday he has received a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers.

Washington, a 6-foot-3 guard, plays with Dayton recruit DaRon Holmes at AZ Compass Prep in Arizona. It’s the nation’s second-ranked high school team, and it played at Butler High School in Vandalia on March 8 in the Top Gun Showcase. Washington and Holmes connected twice on alley-oop dunks.

Three days after that game, Washington announced he was decommitting from Creighton. He has since received offers from Kansas, UCLA and Arizona among other schools.

Washington ranks 30th in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports.com, and 32nd, according to Rivals.com.

Dayton has one scholarship open in the 2021 class. The class includes Holmes, Malachi Smith, Kaleb Washington and Lynn Greer III. The group ranks 19th in the nation among 2021 recruiting classes, according to 247Sports.com.
