Brandon Rechsteiner, a 6-foot-1 point guard in the class of 2023, announced Sunday he received a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers.

Rechsteiner will be a senior at Etowah High School in Woodstock, Ga. He has received offers from Georgia Tech, Northwestern and Wichita State in recent days. Shun Williams, of On the Radar Hoops, called him “one of the hottest prospects” in Georgia.

Rechsteiner played at the GBCA (Georgia Basketball Coaches Association) Live team camp over the weekend.

Brandon is the the son of Scott Rechsteiner, who is a professional wrestler known as “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner. Scott and his brother Rick Steiner, who wrestled together as the Steiner Brothers, were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April.

In other recruiting news:

• Dayton offered a scholarship last week to Raleigh Burgess, a 6-10 center in the class of 2024. Burgess will be a junior at Sycamore High School in Cincinnati.

On Twitter, Burgess wrote he received the offer in a phone call with Dayton assistant coach Darren Hertz. He also wrote “my heart goes out to Coach Grant and his family and I’m grateful that he and the coaching staff believes in me.” UD announced earlier this month Anthony Grant’s daughter Jayda died at age 20.

Burgess has also received offers from Wisconsin, Xavier, Iowa and Ohio this month. He averaged 10.6 points and 6.0 rebounds in 19 games last season as a sophomore at Sycamore.
