Jalen Crutcher and Obi Toppin showed them off while talking on an Instagram live video. Rodney Chatman twirled his around in front of his phone’s camera, showing off the details.

Jordy Tshimanga focused his phone’s camera on his ring while it was still in the box.

“This is magnifique,” Tshimanga said. “Magnificent.”

Each ring has the name of the coach or player on it. It has the team’s achievements printed on each side: “#3 AP final poll,” “20-game win streak" and “18-0.” On the top is printed “Atlantic 10 Champions.”

Dayton finished 29-2 last season, losing only two non-conference games in overtime, and 18-0 in the A-10. It beat George Washington 76-51 on Senior Night on March 7 in the final game of the regular season. That turned out to be the final game of the season when the season was cancelled March 12 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dayton set a school record for victories without playing a postseason game and tied the school record for most consecutive victories in one season.

Dayton finished four games ahead of second-place Richmond in the A-10. It was the largest distance between first and second place since George Washington (16-0) won the league by five games in 2006.

Dayton also finished 17-0 at UD Arena. It was Dayton’s fifth unbeaten record at home and third at UD Arena. It finished 18-0 at home in 2008-09 and 17-0 at home in 2014-15.
