Dayton Flyers recruiting: Two 2021 forwards receive scholarship offers

The Dayton Flyers offered a scholarship to Rafael Castro, the 2021 recruit announced Monday on Twitter.

Castro is a 6-foot-9 junior forward at Dover High School (N.J.). Dayton assistant coach Ricardo Greer visited Castro in early March, according to a report then by Andrew Slater.

Seton Hall, George Mason and Massachusetts are among the other recent schools to offer Castro a scholarship.

Dayton has three scholarships open for the 2020-21 season and will have four opening after the season with Jalen Crutcher, Rodney Chatman, Ibi Watson and Jordy Tshimanga exhausting their eligibility.

Another recent 2021 recruit who received a scholarship offer from Dayton is Nate Santos, a 6-7 forward from the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Conn. He announced an offer from Dayton on April 18.

A 2020 Dayton recruit, R.J. Blakney, played at Loomis Chaffee last season.
