Freshman guard Koby Brea will make his first career start Saturday when the Dayton Flyers play George Mason at 4:30 p.m. at UD Arena.

Brea replaces redshirt senior guard Rodney Chatman, who started all 31 games last season and the first six games this season. Dayton has not made an official announcement about Chatman’s injury, but he was watching the team warm up before the game with a brace or splint on his right hand.

Chatman played 34 minutes Wednesday in a 67-65 loss to La Salle. Brea made his Dayton debut in that same game, scoring three points on 1-of-2 shooting from 3-point range, in 14 minutes. Brea missed six weeks earlier in the season with an upper body injury.

Dayton will also be without guards R.J. Blakney and Elijah Weaver for the second straight game. Both suffered undisclosed injuries in practice before the La Salle game. That means Dayton has seven scholarship players available, two of whom made their UD debuts Saturday: Brea and Mustapha Amzil. Another Zimi Nwokeji has received limited playing time this season.
