Brea traveled to the game with associate head coach Ricardo Greer, a fellow New Yorker, and Ryan Phillips, UD’s assistant director of digital strategy and brand enhancement. Brea received a Mets jersey with his Dayton No. 4 on the back.
The Mets lost 6-4 to the Miami Marlins and are tied for first place in the National League East Division with the Atlanta Braves with seven games remaining.
Brea’s first pitch came four weeks after former Dayton forward Obi Toppin, who’s entering his third season with the New York Knicks, threw out the first pitch before a Mets game on Knicks Night at Citi Field.
