“First and foremost, she’s going to be an outstanding role model for the young women in our program,” McGuff said in a team release. “Specifically as an Ohio native, she’ll be particularly impactful on the recruiting trail as we try to get the best players in the state to stay home. Her championship experience as a player and a coach is going to be extremely valuable as we continue to establish this program as one of the nation’s best.”

Jeter was the two-time Ohio High School Player of the Year at Chaminade Julienne before winning a pair of national championships at Connecticut, where she played from 1999-2002.

After being named the national freshman of the year, she was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2000 Final Four.

She went on to play seven seasons in the WNBA and has 13 years of coaching experience.

That includes working on Jim Foster’s staff at Ohio State from 2002-08.

Her arrival coincides with Ohio State signing class of 2019 point guard Madison Greene, a four-star prospect from Pickerington Central who initially signed with Penn State but was released from her letter of intent after the Nittany Lions parted ways with coach Coquese Washington.
