Report: Dayton visits with 5-star recruit, a former Louisville recruit

The Dayton Flyers had an in-home visit with a five-star prospect in the class of 2018, according to a report Sunday by ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Former Louisville commit Anfernee Simons, a 6-foot-3 guard at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., has visited with coaches from Dayton, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida and Southern Methodist, according to Borzello.

Numerous other schools have reached out to Simons, who is the 12th-ranked recruit in 2018, according to 247Sports.com. Dayton, Memphis, Virginia Tech, LSU and Texas A&M are among the other schools that have offered Simons a scholarship, according to Scout.com.

Simons decommitted from Louisville on Sept. 27 after head coach Rick Pitino was placed on administrative leave.

Dayton has one verbal commitment from a 2018 recruit. Dwayne Cohill announced Sept. 11 he will attend UD.
