The Dayton Flyers made the top five for Vasean Allette, a 6-foot-3 point guard in the class of 2023 from Canada.

Allette trimmed his list on Saturday to Dayton, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Old Dominion and Seton Hall.

Allette received an offer from Dayton in July and visited campus in October. He’s a senior at Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ont., near Toronto.

Dayton has one player on its 2023 class: Jaiun Simon, a 6-7 forward from Georgia who committed to Dayton in October and signed in November.

• In other recruiting news, Jacob Theodosiou, a 6-foot-3 guard in the class of 2024, sat behind the Dayton bench on Nov. 30 during a game against Western Michigan. He’s also from Ontario, Canada. He received a scholarship offer from Dayton in April.
