Dayton offers scholarship to 2021 guard from Chicago area

Louis Lesmond, a 6-foot-6 guard in the class of 2021, announced a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers on Monday.

Lemond moved from France to the Chicago area, according to the Chicago Sun Times, because his dad David, who played at Purdue, relocated for his job in the French wine industry. He attended Evanston High School last year but transferred to Niles Notre Dame in the Chicago suburbs. this summer.

Lesmond announced offers from Illinois and Nebraska on Sunday.

Dayton filled one 2020 scholarship with the commitment of Lukas Frazier and has three scholarships open for 2020 if it doesn’t fill either of the remaining two open this season.

The 2021 class could be a large one because Dayton will lose five players from the 2020-21 season if the roster does change. Jalen Crutcher, Jhery Matos, Ibi Watson, Rodney Chatman and Jordy Tshimanga will be playing their final season.
