Dayton offers scholarship to three-star prospect in 2020 class

Isaiah Rivera, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard in the class of 2020, announced Sunday on Twitter he has received a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers.

Rivera is a junior at Geneseo High School in Geneseo, Ill. He’s a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com, which ranks him 187th in the 2020 class. He also has offers from Drake, Loyola, Bradley, Illinois State, Southern University and St. John’s among others.

Rivera scored a school-record 51 points Saturday in a 77-71 victory against Kaneland. He had 17 points in the fourth quarter and made 20 of 23 free throws.

Dayton has filled all its scholarships for 2019 and will have two opening in 2020 with the departures of Trey Landers and Ryan Mikesell.
