Dayton offers scholarship to top-25 prospect in 2023 class

UD coaches have now offered scholarships to 11 players in 2023 class

The latest member of the class of 2023 to receive a scholarship offer from the Dayton Flyers is the highest-ranked recruit the UD coaches have targeted this month.

Rayvon Griffith, a 6-foot-4 forward from Taft High School in Cincinnati, announced an offer from Dayton on Thursday. He ranks 24th in the 2023 class, according to Rivals.com. Dayton has offered scholarships to seven players in the top 100.

Griffith has received offers from Louisville, South Carolina and Florida State, among others, this month. He averaged 23.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.3 steals as a sophomore.

Griffith is the 11th recruit in the 2023 class to receive an offer from Dayton. Others ranked in the top 100 are:

Taylor Bol Bowen, a 6-foot-8 forward who’s from Vermont and attends the Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, ranks 26th.

Jayden Hastings, a 6-9 forward from Orlando (Fla.) Christian Prep, ranks 43rd.

Maki Johnson, a 6-4 guard who attends Huntington Prep in West Virginia, ranks 67th.

Gavin Griffiths, a 6-7 guard from Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, Conn., ranks 71st.

James Johns, a 6-foot-6 guard from the Salesianum School in Wilmington, Del., ranks 86th.

Lawrent Rice, a 6-3 guard from Wayne High School, ranks 97th.
