Dayton receives one vote in AP preseason top-25 poll

The Dayton Flyers received one vote in the Associated Press preseason top-25 poll, which was released Monday. Cecil Hurt, of the Tuscaloosa News (Ala.), ranked Dayton 25th in his poll.

Michigan State, who Dayton could play in the second round of the Maui Invitational, is No. 1. Ohio State ranks 18th. Xavier is 19th.

Fifty teams received at least one vote. No. 25 Virginia Commonwealth is the only Atlantic 10 Conference team in the top 25. Davidson also received votes.

Saint Mary’s, who Dayton plays on Dec. 8 in Phoenix, ranks 20th. Kansas, another possible opponent in the Maui Invitational, is No. 3. Colorado, who Dayton plays Dec. 21 in Chicago, also received votes.
