The Dayton Flyers volleyball team moved into the top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll for the first time this season Monday.

Dayton is No. 25. It’s the second-highest ranked Ohio team behind No. 19 Ohio State.

Dayton improved to 8-2 with two 3-0 victories Saturday against Wright State and Ball State in the Dayton Invitational at the Frericks Center. It also beat Illinois-Chicago 3-2 on Friday.

Dayton opened the season with a victory against then 24th-ranked Western Kentucky. It lost 3-2 to No. 2 Louisville on Sept. 2. Its other loss was to Marquette, which is receiving top-25 votes.

The Flyers go on the road for the first time next weekend to play Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa and North Dakota in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
