Calamity McEntire, a member of Dayton Flyers women’s basketball coach Shauna Green’s staff since 2017, was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Texas on Friday.

McEntire was hired as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Dayton on June 20, 2017, three months after the end of Green’s first season. The Flyers won three Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season championships and one A-10 tournament title during her four seasons with the program.

McEntire joins the staff of Vic Schaefer, who completed his first season at Texas in March after eight seasons at Mississippi State, where he was twice named national coach of the year.
