Riley Rismiller, a 6-foot-4 senior center at Coldwater High School, announced her verbal commitment to the Dayton Flyers women’s basketball program Friday.

Rismiller led the Midwest Athletic Conference in scoring last season as a junior (17.0 points per game) and ranked second in rebounding (10.3). She received an All-Ohio special mention in Division III.

Rismiller played AAU basketball for Ohio Elite, coached by former Flyer Brooks Hall.

“I’ve been in girls AAU a long time,” Hall wrote on Twitter, “and Riley is the first player from my program to commit to Dayton!! I’m always happy no matter where our girls end up but this obviously hits a little different!! Congrats to (coach Tamika Williams-Jeter) and the rest of the staff.”

Rismiller received an offer from Dayton in November when it was coached by Shauna Green, who left after the season to take the head coaching job at Illinois. She received a new offer from Williams-Jeter on April 1. That was four days after she was hired.

Rismiller received an offer from Butler in June, North Carolina in December and Marquette in November. Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Purdue and Miami University were among the schools to offer her scholarships last summer.

Rismiller is the second 2023 recruit to commit to the Flyers this month.

Lauren Pallotta, a 5-10 guard/forward from Jackson High School in Massillon announced her commitment Aug. 5. She played at UD Arena in March when Jackson lost 54-35 to Mason in the Division I state semifinals.
