Dayton Dragons catcher Pabel Manzanero hit three home runs Tuesday in a 7-4 victory on the road against Lake County.

Manzanero, a 23-year-old native of Venezuela, joins Wily Mo Pena (2001), Juan Francisco (2007) and Byron Wiley (2009) as the only Dragons to hit three home runs in a game.

Manzanero hit a two-run home run in the first inning and solo home runs in the fifth and seventh. He grounded out in his final at-bat in the ninth.

This is Manzanero’s sixth season in pro baseball. He hit nine home runs in 66 games last season with the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League. He’s hitting .322 with four home runs in 14 games with Dayton.
