Dunbar needed a court order earlier this week to re-enter the tournament after the Ohio High School Athletic Association had ruled the Wolverines were disqualified for using an ineligible player. Dunbar responded by edging Fenwick 27-26 in a D-II sectional final at UD Arena late Wednesday night.

The OHSAA's ruling was based on administrative mishandling following a JV fight between Dunbar and visiting Thurgood Marshall in early January. That has resulted in a paid leave of absence for both Dayton Public Schools director of athleticsMark Baker and Dunbar principal Crystal Phillips.
