“First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love and being able to play it at a high level,” Bartley wrote on Twitter. “Secondly, I would like to thank the coaching staff at Belmont University for giving me the opportunity to play these last couple years with them. But I have prayed and talked to my family and I’ve decided to enter my name into the Portal. STAY TUNED!”
Bartley joins a Baylor program that has played in the last 19 NCAA tournaments. It won NCAA championships in 2005, 2012 and 2019.
Bartley averaged 14.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 35 games as a junior. Belmont finished 23-12.
As a sophomore, Bartley averaged 11.7 points and 5.1 rebounds. She started all 31 games for a team that finished 23-8. That season, Belmont beat No. 5 seed Oregon in the first round of the NCAA tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. Bartley scored eight points. She scored 16 points in the second round in a 70-67 loss to No. 4 seed Tennessee.
As a freshman in the 2020-21 season, Bartley averaged 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds. She scored nine points in a 64-59 victory against No. 5 seed Gonzaga in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
