“Obviously I see them standing on the sideline,” Trautman said before practice this week. “It’s not going to change how I practice, not going to change how I work. I know what got me here and I’m going to continue to do that.”

Some teams have scouted Adam more than once since practice started this summer. A total of 53 visits have been scheduled, including representatives from the Senior Bowl and the NFLPA Bowl.
Getting an invitation to one of the postseason games will be important for Trautman since he will go against players from FCS schools, which could bump up his draft stock.
Trautman has been dominant in the first three games of the season. The former quarterback has caught 25 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns. His next reception will make him Dayton’s all-time leading receiver. Trautman’s 133 catches match Bill Franks (1988-91).
The record is impressive, but it’s the attention from the pro scouts that has made Trautman a marked man his final season with the Flyers. Opposing defenders are anxious to go against a guy who could be getting paid to play football next season.
“Some guys will say stuff to me during the games,” Trautman said. “I can tell based on their alignments what they are trying to do to me. I am getting the attention but it’s definitely for the betterment of the team. It opens up other things and it doesn’t matter if I get 10 catches or two. As long as we win that’s all that matters.”
Dayton has never had a player garner this much attention from pro teams. The last Flyer taken in the NFL draft was Bill Westbeld in 1977. An offensive tackle, Westbeld was selected in the seventh round by the Seahawks, but never played in the NFL.
Back to work
The Flyers (2-1) return to work after a bye week to kick off the Pioneer Football League schedule against Jacksonville (2-2) at noon Saturday at Welcome Stadium.
Dayton has won the last three games in the series, including 34-7 in Jacksonville in 2018 when Dolphins freshman quarterback Calvin Turner went out with a broken leg on the first drive of the game.
Turner is second in the PFL in rushing this season, directing Jacksonville’s triple-option attack.
