Smith, 22, averaged 13.8 points and 4.5 assists as a senior, and played in a school-record 138 games for the Flyers over the course of his career. He worked out ahead of the draft for the Knicks, Rockets, Raptors and Mavericks.
Former Dayton teammate Charles Cooke, a guard/forward who along with Smith went to four consecutive NCAA tournaments, signed with the Timberwolves. Cooke led the Flyers in scoring (15.8 points per game) and rebounding (5.1).
