Flyin’ alert: Carroll vs. Minster girls in Sat. opener canceled

The girls high school basketball matchup of Carroll vs. Minster to open Saturday’s Day 2 of the Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop has been canceled.

Five Day 2 games will be played at Fairmont’s Trent Arena, beginning with Xenia vs. First Love Christian (Pa.) at 1:15 p.m. Doors will open at noon.

The four-day annual hoopfest during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend began with a doubleheader on Friday night.

Minster (14-1), the defending Division IV state champ, was not allowed to travel due to worsening weather conditions. Carroll (15-0) is No. 1 in the state in D-II and Minster No. 2 in D-IV.
