Emerging 6-6 junior Nehki Smith had 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Senators (11-1), the state’s top-ranked D-II team. Trevon Ellis led Stivers with 10 points and six rebounds.

“We have to respond to (losing),” Stivers coach Felix Turner said. “I’m really happy the kids were able to experience this. Hopefully, by playing the No. 1 team in the state, this will push us forward.”
Stivers will be among the top seeds in the upcoming D-III sectional.
