Springfield had no answer to Prolific Prep’s (Calif.) 7-foot center Ibrahima Diallo and fell 69-50 in Saturday’s finale of the 17th annual Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop at Fairmont’s Trent Arena. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Wildcats (8-4).

Diallo, from Saly, Senegal, had 20 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks for Prolific, anchored at Napa Valley and among the nation’s most successful – and heavily recruited – programs. A senior, Diallo is uncommitted.

RaHeim Moss led Springfield with 19 points. Jalan Minney, a first-year junior transfer from Northwestern, added 15 points.

At halftime, Springfield senior David Sanford was named the $1,000 Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop scholarship recipient. Sanford owns a 3.82 GPA and is heavily involved with various Springfield youth programs.
