The high school football playoffs begin this week. Qualifying teams were announced by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on Sunday.

Teams that accumulated the most Harbin computer points and placed among the top eight in their region advanced. First-level points are for wins and second-level points for wins by a defeated opponent.

The football postseason lasts five weeks, or half a regular season. Weeks 11-13 are for regional first-round, semifinal and final contests. The state semifinals are Week 14. The state championships will be Week 15 from Nov. 30-Dec. 2 at the new Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
