Former Dayton Flyers center Jordy Tshimanga will start his professional basketball career in the NBA G League.

The Cleveland Charge announced their 15-man training camp roster Monday, and it included Tshimanga, who averaged 4.7 points and 4.8 rebounds in 50 games the last two seasons at Dayton. He earned a spot on the roster through a tryout.

The Charge began training camp Monday at the Cleveland Clinic Courts in Independence, Ohio.

Tshimanga will try to make a regular-season roster for a team coached by Dan Geriot, a 1,389-point scorer at Richmond from 2006-11.

Tshimanga played last summer in the Drew League, a pro-am league in Los Angeles. His team won the championship.

The G League season begins Nov. 6 for the Charge, who will play the Motor City Cruise at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center.
