The Cleveland Charge, of the NBA G League, announced the signing of former Dayton Flyers guard Trey Landers on Tuesday.

The Wayne High School grad Landers, who ranks 57th in Dayton history with 957 points, finished his college career in 2020 as a member of the team that finished 29-2 and 18-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Landers started his professional basketball career in Germany in 2020 and announced last July he would play in Finland. He averaged 5.8 points in 11 games for Kataja.

Landers has also played the last two summers in The Basketball Tournament with Red Scare, a Dayton alumni team. He also has committed to play for the team in 2022 when the tournament starts at UD Arena.

The Charge, a Cleveland Cavaliers affiliate, are 6-6. They started the season with Landers’ former Dayton teammate Jordy Tshimanga on the roster, but he was traded to the Iowa Wolves in November.

Tshimanga is averaging 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14 games this season: 10 with Iowa and four with Cleveland.

Dayton has three other players in the G League.

Jalen Crutcher is averaging 9.4 points, 5.8 assists and 31.4 minutes in 14 games for the Greensboro Swarm, a Charlotte Hornets affiliate in North Carolina.

Ibi Watson is averaging 5.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 20.3 minutes in 12 games for the College Park Skyhawks, an Atlanta Hawks affiliate based in Georgia.

Jordan Sibert also plays for College Park. He’s averaging 4.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 15.3 minutes in 11 games.
