Former Dayton guard Sibert returns to NBA G League

G League starts play this week

Former Dayton Flyers guard Jordan Sibert has returned to the NBA G League after two seasons in Europe.

Sibert starts the season on the roster of the Erie (Pa.) BayHawks. He played 44 games for Erie in 2015-16, averaging 13.1 points in his first season in professional basketball.

Erie starts the season Friday at home against the Raptors 905. Sibert will play against former Dayton teammate Scoochie Smith, who's entering his second stint with the Canton Charge, on Nov. 10 in Canton.

Sibert played for PAOK in Thessaloniki, Greece, in the 2016-17 season, averaging 11.4 points. Last season, Sibert played in Germany for

Mitteldeutscher BC and the Fraport Skyliners. He averaged 8.8 points.

Sibert played two seasons at Ohio State, transferred to Dayton and finished his two-year career with the Flyers in 2015. He scored 1,030 points in two seasons. The Flyers won five NCAA tournament games in those two seasons.

In addition to Sibert and Smith, here are the other Flyers starting the season in the G League:

• Charles Cooke, who played with the New Orleans Pelicans last season and also in the G League, begins this season with the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Skyforce.

• Kostas Antetokounmpo, who the Dallas Mavericks selected with the last pick of the draft in June, enters his first season with the Texas Legends.

• Chris Wright enters his third season with the Oklahoma City Blue. He averaged 12.4 points in 18 games last season.
