Former Dayton Flyer center Moulaye Sissoko committed Monday to the University of North Texas.

Sissoko, a 6-foot-9 center from Mali, will have three years of eligibility with the Mean Green. He entered the transfer portal after the season ended in March.

Sissoko averaged 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in limited action the last two seasons with Dayton. He redshirted during the 2019-20 campaign.

Sissoko appeared in 14 games in the 2020-21 season, averaging 1.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.6 minutes per game. He did not play after Jan. 30 because of a knee injury and underwent season-ending surgery in late February.

Sissoko appeared in 30 of 35 games this past season and averaged 7.0 minutes per game, 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds. He had a career-high 12 points against Austin Peay in November and scored eight points in each of Dayton’s National Invitation Tournament games against Toledo and Vanderbilt, making 8 of 9 shots.

The Mean Green finished 25-7 last season, winning the regular-season title in Conference USA. North Texas was upset by Louisiana Tech in the conference tourney. The Mean Green lost to Virginia (71-69 in overtime) in the second round of the NIT.
