Former Dayton Flyers forward Josh Cunningham will start his pro basketball career in the Netherlands.

ZZ Leiden, which plays in the first division of the Dutch Basketball League announced the signing of Cunningham on Monday. Leidein is 46 kilometers southwest of Amsterdam.

Cunningham was invited to the NBA G League Player Invitational earlier this month and earlier this summer, he participated in the Worldwide Invitational in Las Vegas. He was one of 72 players selected for the event, which describes itself as the "country's top professional basketball showcase."

Cunningham, the only scholarship senior on last year’s team, scored five points in his final game in March and finished his career with 964 points in a Dayton uniform. He ranks 52nd in school history between Kevin Conrad (983) and Charles Cooke (957). Counting his one season at Bradley, he scored 1,224 points

Cunningham’s final career field-goal percentage (63.9 percent) ranks second in UD history behind Sean Finn (64.7).
