Former Miami University hockey standout Jack Roslovic won a gold medal Thursday night in Montreal at the World Junior Championship as the United States beat Canada 5-4 in a shootout.

Team USA, which went unbeaten in the tournament, rallied from 2-0 and 4-2 deficits in the gold-medal game.

Roslovic, a defenseman, played for the RedHawks during the 2015-16 season. He tied for the team lead with 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) and was named to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Rookie team.

A Winnipeg Jets’ prospect, Roslovic leads the AHL’s Manitoba Moose in scoring this season. He was named an AHL All-Star this week.

Roslovic, 19, is the seventh player with Miami ties to earn a medal and the fourth to win a gold at the World Junior Championship. Riley Barber, Sean Kuraly and Tyler Biggs won gold in 2013.
