Three weeks remain in the high school boys basketball regular season, and the race in one Miami Valley League division remains red hot.

Butler has a 1.5-game lead over Tippecanoe in the Miami division entering the week, and the Aviators have a win over the Red Devils in hand (42-36 on Jan. 7).

Butler (14-2 overall, 13-1 in conference) plays host to Xenia and Sidney this week then has league games at Stebbins and Tippecanoe along with out-of-conference matchups with Bellefontaine and Monroe to close out the season.

Tippecanoe is on the road this week against Fairborn and Piqua before finishing the season with three February home games: Sidney (Feb. 7), Piqua (Feb. 8) and Butler (Feb. 14).

In the Valley division, Sidney leads the way with an 11-3 mark (12-3 overall) while West Carrollton (9-5, 8-5 MVL) is the only other team above .500.

Joseph and Chylan Ingram lead the Pirates with identical 14.5 scoring averages while CJ Bailey of Tippecanoe leads the league in scoring at 17.7 points per game.

Sidney’s A’zon Steele (17.3 ppg.) and Jayce Daniel (15.7 ppg.) rank 2-3 in scoring while teammate Julius Spradling is not far behind at 13.2.

Chylan Ingram leads the league with 12.8 rebounds per game while Steele is No. 1 in assists (3.8).
