Alter High School sophomore C.J. Hicks, one of the state’s top recruits in his class, verbally committed to Ohio State today.

Hicks, who ranks No. 3 among the state's Class of 2022 recruits according to 247sports.com, is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive back.

Ohio State offered him early last month.

Hicks had offers from several other schools, including Cincinnati, Notre Dame and the University of Miami.

Lakota West offensive lineman Tegra Tshabola, the No. 2 recruit in Ohio in the Class of 2022, committed to the Buckeyes last week.
