“Thank you to all the adults who installed life lessons and values in me,” he wrote in his announcement on social media. “Thank you to my family and friends for always supporting and being there for me. With that being said, I’m excited to announce that I’m continuing my football and academic career at Northwestern…”
The 6-2, 195-pound Glover had 31 tackles as a junior for Northmont last season.
He is a three-star prospect and the No. 15 player in Ohio in current 247Sports Composite rankings for the class of 2023.
A handful of area players have already committed to NCAA Division I FBS schools, including Wayne offensive linemen Joshua Padilla (Ohio State) and Evan Tengesdahl (Cincinnati). Fairfield defensive back Josiah Jackson committed to West Virginia while Miamisburg tight end Jackson McGowan is headed to UC, Springfield linebacker Jaivian Norman is going to Eastern Michigan and Lakota West defensive back Malik Hartford will suit up for Ohio State.
Northwestern has made a habit of recruiting players from Ohio, including current Wildcat Jaiden Cameron, who is a 2020 Northmont grad.
A Thunderbolt going to the Big Ten is also nothing new.
Safety Rod Moore (Michigan) and receiver Markus Allen (Wisconsin) signed with Big Ten schools in 2021 while Gabe Newburg (Michigan) and Jestin Jacobs (Iowa) did the same in 2019.
