Wayne High School offensive lineman Aamil Wagner has made his college choice.

The four-star prospect announced Thursday afternoon he will continue his football career at Notre Dame.

Wagner is the No. 6 prospect in Ohio and ranked the 12th-best tackle prospect in the country in 247Sports Composite rankings for the class of 2022.

He picked the Fighting Irish from a top five that also included Ohio State, Kentucky, Maryland and Penn State.

Wagner told 247Sports that Wayne alumnus Mike Mickens was among his main recruiters at Notre Dame along with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.

Mickens is the cornerbacks coach for the Fighting Irish.

With Wagner in the fold, Notre Dame’s class moved up to No. 3 in 247Sports Composite rankings behind Alabama and Georgia.

He is the first player from Ohio to commit to Notre Dame for 2022 and can sign a national letter of intent next month.

Fellow Wayne offensive lineman Joshua Padilla, a highly-regarded member of the class of 2023, verbally committed to Ohio State last week.
