Bellefontaine jumped out to an early lead, scoring four unanswered touchdowns to start the game.
Sidney wasn’t done however. Quamir Brown got the scoring started with a 98-yard kickoff return for a TD in the second quarter.
Brown later caught a pair of TD passes from Ryan Dunham to spur the Sidney rally attempt, but the monster game from Gross was too much to overcome.
Anna 49, Brookville 16: After falling behind 16-14 Anna rattled off 35 unanswered points to run away with the game.
Beavercreek 40, Ponitz 20: 'Creek had a pair of runners eclipse the century mark on the way to 477 total rushing yards as a team. Nick Brown led the way with 137 yards and three touchdowns and Elijah Howard added 120 yards. Vahsaan Ward and Tim Vaught each had a TD run for Ponitz.
Bellbrook 28, Fairborn 0: Alex Westbrock tossed two touchdowns, Ben Borszcz had a fumble recovery for a score and Seth Borondy added an eight-yard TD run to cap the scoring for Bellbrook.
Bishop Watterson 31, Marion Local 7: Brandon Fleck ran 60 yards for a touchdown to bring Marion Local within a score going into the half, but Watterson pulled away in the second half.
Coldwater 37, Mt. Healthy 7: Jake Hemmelgarn threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Coldwater offense. Noah Miller finished with five catches for 121 yards and two scores and Nathan Grieshop added a rushing TD.
Dayton Christian 29, Tri-County North 12: Tiray Jamison racked up three touchdown runs, Seth Griswold added a rushing score and Reid Wheeler hauled in five catches for 45 yards to lead Dayton Christian.
Fenwick 67, Norwood 13: David Schuh threw two touchdowns, Jacob Berning and John Stevenson each had a defensive score and Noah Lock and Josh Brown both ran back kickoff returns for TDs in the rout for Fenwick.
Fort Loramie 42, St. Henry 7: Collin Moore threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran in two more to lead Fort Loramie, which scored 29 unanswered points in the second half. Damon Mescher added a pair of TD runs.
Greenville 21, Stebbins 10: Tony Sells and Connor Mills ran for one touchdown apiece and Tyler Beyke found John Butsch on a 74-yard TD pass late to clinch the game for Greenville. Marvelous Rutledge tallied a rushing score for Stebbins.
Lakota East 14, Fairmont 6: Trey Baker struck first with a two-yard run for Fairmont, but Lakota East rallied with a pair of short TD runs from T.J. Kathman to pull ahead. Tank Gant racked up 110 yards on the ground for Fairmont.
Lakota West 30, Centerville 15: Chase Harrison found Will Linkhart on consecutive TD passes in the second half to bring Centerville in striking distance, but David Afari's 50-yard TD rumble in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach. Caleb Rao led Lakota West with 127 yards on the ground. Chase Harrison threw for 183 yards to pace Centerville, including nine receptions from Will Linkhart.
Lebanon 50, Loveland 20: Keith Farr finished with 155 yards on the ground and five touchdowns to lead the Lebanon attack. Ethan Marsh tacked on a rushing score, Eric West forced and recovered a fumble and Mason DeGennaro tallied 13 tackles.
Lima Senior 17, Piqua 14: Garrett Schrubb hauled in a 26-yard touchdown throw from Blane Ouhl to bring Piqua in striking distance but the late rally fell short. Tanner Kemp had a rushing score early in the game for Piqua.
Mechanicsburg 49, Urbana 12: Chayse Propst rumbled for a career-high 168 yards with two touchdowns and Aaron Conley threw for a career-high 198 yards with two TD passes and one TD run to lead the way for 'Burg. Kix Thiel also caught a TD pass and ran back an interception for a score. Aaron Norris paced Urbana, running for a 53-yard TD and an 87-yard TD on his only two carries.
Milton-Union 51, Oakwood 22: A.J. Lovin led Milton-Union in multiple ways. Lovin booted a 25-yard field goal, returned an interception for a score, caught an 18-yard TD pass from Nathan Brumbaugh and rushed 85 yards for his final score.
Northmont 37, Pickerington North 17: Northmont pulled away in the second half, spurred on by a three-interception night from Rod Moore. Keaton Kesling passed for 352 yards and four touchdowns, one each to Jazz Keys, Justin Golson, Marcus Allen and Javien Brownlee.
Northridge 26, West Carrollton 7: Shawn Shehee paced Northridge on both sides of the ball. Shehee ran for a pair of touchdowns, caught a TD pass from Riley Holmes and added a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Olentangy Liberty 19, Wayne 10: Kalen Turner returned an interception for a score and Justin Doan had a 26-yard field goal for Wayne, but Olentangy took the lead with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Parkway 21, Spencerville 6: Parkway picked up a 21-0 lead in the first half before holding on for the win. It marks the first 2-0 start for Parkway since 2007.
Talawanda 24, Badin 17: Adam Crank's 7-yard touchdown scramble in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for Talawanda. Deondre Bothast-Revalee and Terrell Wills each added a rushing score. Zach Switzer paced Badin with 177 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
Trotwood 48, Canada Prep 6: Hezekiah Hudson-Davis racked up 179 yards on the ground with three rushing scores and Cooper Stewart added two TD passes and two TD runs for Trotwood.
Valley View 16, Fort Recovery 13: Fort Recovery staked an early lead, aided by Jacob Acheson's interception return for a TD. Valley View answered with a TD scramble from Cade Cradlebaugh and a 75-yard TD scamper by Lucas Lynch. Luke Combs drilled a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter to put Valley View ahead for good.
Wapakoneta 19, St. Marys 13, OT: Evan Kaeck tallied the winning score in overtime after Devin Huelskamp picked off the St. Marys quarterback to start the extra period.
West Liberty-Salem 54, Ben Logan 0: Trevor Woodruff tossed a pair of touchdowns on a 9-of-12 night, Trent Berry ran in two more TDs and WLS scored early and often with 24 points in the first quarter and 27 in the second.
Xenia 35, Eaton 14: Eaton jumped out to an early lead in the first half but Xenia rallied to take the lead in the second behind consecutive Andrew Pollander touchdown runs.
