Bartlett to coach at Miami Trace

Former Carroll High School football coach Steve Bartlett has been named the head coach at Miami Trace in Washington Court House.

Bartlett, 53, was approved by the school district’s board of education on Saturday. He’ll also teach social studies at the school.

Bartlett was the head coach of the Patriots for 16 seasons in which Carroll qualified for the playoffs nine times. He retired from coaching at Carroll after the 2010 season and was replaced by longtime assistant Bob Levy.

Prior to that he was the head football coach at Southeastern from 1987-95.

Miami Trace, a Division III program and member of the South Central Ohio League, has been to the playoffs six times, the last in 2005. He replaces Mike Bernard, who resigned after guiding the Panthers to a 5-5 season last fall.
