Lakota East baseball team to be honored tonight

LIBERTY TWP. — The state champion Lakota East High School baseball team will be honored at 7 tonight in the high school gymnasium. The public is invited to attend.

The Thunderhawks defeated Perrysburg 6-2 on Saturday in the Division I title game.

Before the celebration, 12 East seniors —JD Whetsel, Craig Thomson, Nick Norris, Brian Evans, Jesse Rait, David Kovac, Damon Lander, Evan Hills, Zak Kloenne, Mark McDaniel, Nick Kloenne and Mitch Geers — will receive their diplomas. The players missed graduation to play in the championship game.
