It’s an honor: Former Dunbar coach to join OHSBCA Hall of Fame

Former Dunbar boys and girls basketball coach Pete Pullen will join a select club this week: the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Pullen will be among five new inductees during a dinner ceremony at the Columbus Marriott (Olentangy River Road) on Saturday.

Dunbar boys basketball was an established state power but had lost its relevance when Pullen took over. That immediately changed as the Wolverines won Division II state championships in 2012, ’10, ’07 and ’06. Those title teams were the highlights of an incredible run of a half-dozen state final four teams from 2005-15.

Pullen has been an assistant to Darnell Hoskins at Middletown the past two seasons after not being renewed as a coach by the Dayton Public Schools school board.
