Greene, whom the Reds made the No. 2 overall pick in the June MLB draft, batted No. 6 as the designated hitter for Cincinnati's Pioneer Rookie League franchise, was hitless in his first three at-bats with a strikeout.
He was on deck in the bottom of the ninth inning when the game ended in a 10-7 loss.

The owner of a fastball that topped 100 mph in high school, he’s expected to make his pitching debut Aug. 27. Greene is also highly respected as a shortstop with outstanding offensive skills.
