D-III high school football regions for area teams

The following are the high school football region assignments for area Division III teams. Bellbrook, Carroll, Fenwick and Wilmington all shifted to new regions from last season.

Fenwick and Carroll, rivals in the GCL Co-Ed North, underwent the greatest change. Fenwick bumped up a division to D-III, Region 12 following the annual revised competitive balance count. Carroll dropped a division to D-III, Region 12.

With Alter and Chaminade Julienne staying put, that means all the GCL North teams are lumped in D-III, Region 12.

Bellbrook and Wilmington both were bumped from D-III Region 12 to Region 11.

Region assignments for all teams were announced by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on Wednesday. The OHSAA also announced a return to Saturday night playoff football this coming season.

Like previously, playoff games will be split between Friday and Saturday nights. Last season playoff games were held on Friday only through the first four rounds.

Division III, Region 11: Bellbrook, Bellefontaine, Wilmington.

D-III, Region 12: Alter, Badin, Butler, Carroll, Chaminade Julienne, Dunbar, Fenwick, Franklin, Greenville, Monroe, Piqua, Ponitz, Ross, Thurgood Marshall, Tippecanoe, Trotwood-Madison, West Carrollton.
