Freshman Moulaye Sissoko wore one during the summer. Redshirt junior guard Ibi Watson had one on in September. Boots are used these days for even minor injuries, so they’re not always a reason for fans to to get worried, but even minor injuries are frustrating for the players.
Crutcher said he twisted his ankle in practice Saturday, and he wasn’t sure how long he would miss but said it wasn’t serious.
“It’s frustrating because since we got everybody here (in June), we haven’t had a full practice where everybody’s been there,” Crutcher said. “There’s always been somebody hurt.”

Redshirt junior guard Rodney Chatman missed part of the summer workouts with an eye injury. Another redshirt junior, center Jordy Tshimanga, is dealing with knee pain and hasn’t practiced for three weeks. He hopes to play in the season opener Nov. 9.
“I’m coming along,” Tshimanga said. “I had to take care of some stuff in my knee, but I’ll be back shortly.”
