Cincinnati Bengals coach in waiting Zac Taylor has tapped Brian Callahan as the team's new offensive coordinator.

Jon Gruden, who had Callahan on his staff this season as quarterbacks coach, broke the news today at Senior Bowl press conference in Mobile, Ala.

Callahan, the son of former Raiders and University of Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan, served two years as quarterbacks coach for the Lions before joining Gruden, a University of Dayton grad, in Oakland.

The Bengals can’t name Taylor, the Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach, as their new head coach until after the Super Bowl. Taylor played for Bill Callahan at Nebraska.

Taylor will replace Marvin Lewis, who parted ways with the Bengals on Dec. 31, 2018, after 16 seasons.
