Pavlik, who is 33 but acts like he’s 13, lives in the Youngstown suburb of Canfield. He is accused of shooting a guy with a pellet gun last August. Police reports say a man who was digging a lake on Pavlik’s property was in the water, checking the lake’s depth, when Pavlik opened fire.
The man reportedly screamed, “That was my head!” after the first shot. Pavlik fired again, hitting the pool guy in the arm.
The report said others were hanging out with Pavlik and everyone was drinking. You don’t say. Of course, someone taped the incident with a cellphone and that video has worked its way onto the internet.
Pavlik retired from boxing in 2013. A year later he pleaded guilty to OVI; last year he was found guilty of disorderly conduct and had an assault charge dismissed.
Pavlik probably needs a hobby other than day-drinking and target practice on humans.
Honorable mention:
Raymond Moore — The tournament director of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif., said last week that women tennis players "ride on the coattails of the men." He went on to say, "If I was a lady player, I'd go down every night on my knees and thank God that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal were born, because they have carried this sport." Maybe the tone deaf Moore, 69, wanted his 15 minutes of fame. He got it.
LeBron James — LeBron's passive-aggressive act is getting old. He's probably not the only problem in the Cavaliers' locker room, but he's the main man. LeBron has spoken about playing with Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul — would they want to play with him? — and it seems like he isn't real pumped to put up a fight in NBA playoffs. The Cavs' 104-95 loss to lowly Brooklyn on Thursday is not a sign that things are improving.
