Anthony Grant is far from the only new face in the gym for the Dayton Flyers this fall.

The first-year Flyers coach has five scholarship true freshmen on the roster, too.

We previously profiled Jordan Pierce and Jalen Crutcher while Tom Archdeacon provided a detailed look at Matej Svoboda.

Here is what you need to know about Jordan Davis:

Position: Guard

Measurements: 6-2, 195

Hometown: Irmo, S.C.

Noteworthy: He averaged 22.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 assists for his career at Dutch Fork High School, where he is the all-time leading scorer.

How'd he get here? Davis is the highest-rated recruit in Dayton's 2017 class, ranking No. 267 overall in the country and 55th among shooting guards. He was the No. 6 prospect in South Carolina and chose the Flyers late last summer over Butler and Kansas State. He stuck with his decision even after Archie Miller left for Indiana and was replaced by Anthony Grant.

First impressions of Dayton and the Miami Valley: "I remember watching them when they played at Dayton in the First Four. Then they talked to me my junior year.

“(UD Arena is) more than I expected. I had been to Clemson and South Carolina gyms, but it’s nothing compared to Dayton.”

Davis on Davis: "My goals are just to make the team better." He is considering majoring in sports management.

Grant on Davis: "Jordan is a young man who physically walked in the door with a mature body. He's done a great job improving his conditioning, his stamina, his understanding of what we're looking for in terms of being a guy who can play the two guard or really a small forward position. He's got some versatility. He's beginning to understand from a defensive standpoint the system and terminology and all those things. He's wired to score. He'll be a guy who can put up numbers with the way we'll play."
