The Raiders, who are seeded 13th out of 14 teams in Pullman, are making their fifth NCAA trip. In four previous appearances, they’ve never finished better than 16th in the regionals.
Austin Schoonmaker, a junior from Springboro, was the team medalist in six of 12 tournaments this year and leads the Raiders with a 73.64 average.
He was named second team All-Horizon League along with senior Mitch Lehigh, who is second on the team with a 74.48 average.
Sophomore Bryce Haney (Wayne High School) finished second and freshman Cole Corder third at the league tournament to lead the Raiders to their first conference crown in 15 years. Both were named to the five-player all-tourney team.
Sophomore Nathan Arnold and freshman Davis Root also will be part of the Raiders’ NCAA squad. Five players compete each round with the four best scores counting toward the team total.
