Bryce Agler joins Tamika Williams-Jeter's staff with Dayton Flyers

New Dayton Flyers women’s basketball coach Tamika Williams-Jeter announced the hiring of Bryce Agler as an assistant coach on Tuesday.

Agler worked as the director of video and player performance for the Pittsburgh women’s basketball team last season. He’s the first member of Williams-Jeter’s coaching staff.

“I am ecstatic to have Bryce on our staff,” Williams-Jeter said in a press release. “I’ve known his family since 2002. He’s an Ohio native, born and raised. He knows the landscape of the state when it comes to girls basketball and the history behind a storied program like the University of Dayton. What makes Bryce special is he has coached at Division I mid-major and Power 5, and in the WNBA. He has what we need at this level to win. No matter where you go, you want a staff that can prepare people for the next level if they choose. We want that option here for every kid to be trained like a pro. I am super excited to have Bryce on staff to help grow our young women every day, both on and off the court.”

Agler, a 2014 Wittenberg graduate, is the son of Brian Agler, the athletic director at Wittenberg who hired Williams-Jeter in May 2021. Agler is a graduate of Olentangy Orange High School in Lewis Center and worked as a student assistant coach at Wittenberg during the 2012-13 season after a year on the junior varsity squad.

Bryce Agler’s hiring comes 11 days after Dayton announced the hiring of Williams-Jeter and nine days after she was introduced in a press conference at UD Arena.

Prior to working at Pittsburgh, Agler spent five seasons in the WNBA. He was assistant coach, player development coach and video coordinator for the Dallas Wings, where he worked under his dad. He also worked as an assistant coach and player development coach on his dad’s staff with the Los Angeles Sparks, and they won a WNBA championship together in 2016.

Agler got his start in coaching in 2014 at Eastern Illinois as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and video coordinator. He also worked as a video coordinator at Southern Methodist in the 2017-18 season.
